WK #9 (Strat): Supply Chain Analysis - Internal (Process and Systems) PDF Print E-mail

The Supply Chain analysis for internal processes and systems examines how the Company manages the flow of information and decisions to supply the goods and services to the Company customers.  As the name indicates it is an examination of the chain of data that results in decisions for the supply of these goods and services.

In most Companies these processes and systems consist of human communication and the software systems that support these the communication and decision making process.  In many cases, the examination of the work flow through the use of process flow charts reveals processes where reengineering can yield lower costs, faster customer service, reduced capital employment (lower inventory, lower AR, etc.) and increased satisfaction to personnel Company personnel.
